13.Jul.01 - Less than two month after a campaign was started against the involvement of the Romanian national aircarrier TAROM into deportations from Germany, the company has apparently stopped this practice. A official spokesperson of the airline has recently declared that the airline will not let its planes be chartered for deportation flights in the future and that the airline will not take any passengers on board of its regular flights that are not 'willing to travel'.
As a result of this step of TAROM there at least one planned group deportation from Germany has been cancelled so far. This positive decision of TAROM should be seen as a clear signal to the German [and other] Government and other airlines that are still deporting passengers against their will.
We should have a more comprehensive report on the cations that made TAROM change their mind and the consequences that result from this decision here shortly.
