"Comfort, friendship, empathy and assistance is the human response to hardship and terror.
The fear/indifference perpetrated by the Australian majority makes potential enemies of those who return to their countries feeling the cold reality of Western disl!"

Because I feel deeply saddened and shamed to think of the asylum seekers traumas being added to in our own country.
For what they have escaped I can only imagine, the uncertainty of their future only glimpsed. I feel for the children, they are the hope and link to the future, they provide most people with an incentive to care and nurture.
I cannot bear to think of them sewing their lips together, it is macabre - for a Government to react to this as if it was a bit of theatre reveals how blind, how inhuman policy is. Every moment of every life is a new moment and may be filled with the thoughts and actions of goodness and kindness. To base humanity on whether it will get votes is treacherous and if we support this Government for its hardline stand, one day we too may not be heard, our grievances will be swept aside for the majority. The cold hard light of day may shine on us, all of us who may be little or weak, or traumatised or damaged.
