During the last four years, activists have created new forms of resistance against the brutal and often deadly border regime of Fortress Europe with different actions and border camps. This new approach has been taken up and developed further in the noborder network and the year 2000 has seen a chain of border camps. The first was held at the Polish border to the Ukraine and Slovakia, followed by camps in Germany [at its external border to Poland], Sicily [representing the "blue border" to Italy] and at the US- Mexican border. These border camps, which are characterized by diverse interventions and discussion groups, have been covered on the internet in various intensities. The summer of 2001 has seen a Europe-wide series of interconnected and coordinated bordercamps:camps have taken place in Tarifa at the strait of gibraltar in the south of Spain, in Bialystok/Krynki at the Polish-Belorussian border, in Genua during the CountroG8 summit activities and at the international airport of Frankfurt in Germany. In sptember the 2nd borderhack happend in Tijuana at the Mexican-American border.

For 2002 four bordercamps are already planned: the first one will take place on Easter in Woomera in Australia. In Europe bordecamps are planned in Poland, on the Czech -German border and as a product of international collobaration among activists from the noborder network in Strasbourg, France in mid July....
